Fundraising Ideas
Our #1 goal at American Prom is to help make Prom planning easier and economical for all schools across the nation. Prom costs can add up in a heart beat and we know how much you want this event to be spectacular. We are committed to helping you achieve your Prom dreams so we have compiled a list of successful fundraising ideas to help you get started with your money-making events. Choose two or three ideas (or more) and let the cash flow begin!
Spaghetti Dinner - Serve up some pasta and a variety of sauces for your Italian night. Add some garlic bread and a salad to top it off.
School Spirit Clothing Sale - Have caps, stadium cups, t-shirts, pom poms, and pennants available for sale! Have your school logo and a fun slogan imprinted on the front of the items. What's the added bonus to this idea? It's the boost it provides to your school spirit.
Photo Op - Hire a photographer to take family photos! Put on your cheesy smiles and gather up your friends or family for a perfect keepsake that also makes cash for your Prom. Check around as many studios have fundraising packages available for this purpose - making your school some serious cash.
Survivor Services - Recruit as many students as you can to work as many hours as they have. Sell your services (mowing, painting, raking, cleaning) for a fee to people in the community. Every dime you make goes directly to your pockets. Make this a contest to see who can work the most hours and reward a prize to that student!
Sports Contests - Have a free-throw contest at the half-time of a basketball game or hold a field goal kicking contest before a football game. Ask local companies to donate prizes to the winners.
Ice Cream Social - Hold an old-fashioned ice cream social at your school. Serve ice cream and all the toppings.
Viva Las Vegas Night - Gear this evening toward the parents. Have them gamble for donated prizes or services provided by the students.
Holiday Help - Spread the cheer and bring in some bucks this holiday season by setting up a gift wrapping table at your school. Be prepared with wrapping paper, bows, scissors, tape, and tags!
Walk-a-Thon - This one is always popular and proves a wonderful fundraising idea. Collect pledges before the walk and watch the cash pour in.
Concert Night - Have your school choir, band, or orchestra hold a special concert for the community. Sell tickets to friends, families, and neighbors!
Dance-a-Thon - Have your participants get sponsors for this event. Have the sponsors pledge a certain amount for each hour danced or a flat donation for the entire night. Provide some snacks and some great music for them to dance the night away.
Bowl-a-thon - Grab those great looking shoes and hit the lanes for some easy and quick cash. Again, have sponsors pledge a certain amount for each game or a flat donation for the night.
Create a Cookbook - Gather your student's favorite recipes and compile a cookbook. Sell them to friends and family for a serious profit!
